James Baker BChD, MSc ConDent, MFDS RCS(Eng)

PRINCIPAL DENTIST & SPECIALIST PROSTHODONTIST

James graduated with Honours from The University of Leeds where he was awarded the Wattsman Prize for clinical excellence and the Charles Rippon Medal, awarded to the final year’s most distinguished student. His postgraduate studies include a Certificate in Restorative Dental Practice, a Masters Degree in Conservative Dentistry from UCL (awarded with Distinction and the winner of the 3M prize for clinical and academic excellence), Membership of the Royal College of Surgeons of England, and the British Society of Restorative Dentistry Postgraduate Research Prize. James is registered as a Specialist in Prosthodontics, the branch of dentistry concerned with restoring or replacing damaged or missing teeth. James joined No. 6 in 2004, taking over the ownership of the Practice from Andrew Macdonald in 2006. James practises here four days a week and is a part-time lecturer in Restorative Dentistry at the prestigious Eastman Dental Institute (UCL), where he teaches qualified dentists training to become specialists. James is strongly committed to postgraduate education and attends a wide range of courses and conferences both at home and abroad. He is also an executive officer of The Dental Society of London.

Andrew Macdonald BDS LDS RCS DDS

DENTIST

Andrew graduated from Guys Hospital, then took up a position at The University of Michigan, USA, where he graduated with a Doctorate in Dental Surgery. On returning to London, he took over the long established practice at No. 6 Harcourt House from his father, whilst continuing to lecture part-time at Guys. Andrew has been a president of both the American Dental Society of London and the American Dental Society of Europe. He continues to be an active member of both societies, frequently attending international meetings. After a long tenure at No.6 he now works only on Fridays.

 

Claire Deacon EDH

HYGIENIST

Claire graduated in Dental Hygiene from the Royal Air Force in 1995 and after leaving there in 1997, worked in private practice until she joined No.6 in 2002. Claire is extremely committed to continuing professional development and regularly attends courses and conferences in the UK and abroad.

Julia Sparrow EDH

HYGIENIST

Julia graduated in Dental Hygiene and Therapy from the Royal London Hospital in 1991, where she was awarded the Best Clinical Therapist prize and later taught. She joined No. 6 in 2002 and currently splits her week between here and Great Ormond Street Children’s Hospital. Julia regularly attends continuing education courses.

Tina Frost

PRACTICE MANAGER

Tina has worked in West End dental practices since the early 1990s and joined No. 6 in 1997. In her current role as Practice Manager, Tina is responsible for the day-to-day running of the Practice and is your first point of contact for all enquiries relating to your dental care.

Anna Morris

DENTAL NURSE

Anna joined the Practice in 2008 having previously worked at the Eastman Dental Institute where she attained both her National and Hospital Dental Nursing Qualifications.
